Even though the Sith are the primary villains in Star Wars lore, their origin has never been explored outside Star Wars Legends. This is a pity since any Star Wars fan would be eager to learn the backstory of the first Sith, Ajunta Pall.

7,000 years ago, a Jedi Knight called Ajunta accidentally discovered how to create life through the Force. The Jedi Order found this practise blasphemous and forbade Ajunta from studying it any further.

Believing his mentors were too set in their ways, Ajunta researched this new power in secret and indirectly tapped into The Dark Side. Encouraging other Force-wielders to join his cause, Ajunta formed The Dark Jedi and unleashed an onslaught against his former mentors.

This period, known as The Hundred Year Darkness, concluded with The Dark Jedi's defeat. Ajunta fled into space and formed a new empire called The Sith Order. The Jedi ultimately defeated him but failed to stop the Sith from infecting the galaxy with their influence. Even though Ajunta originally had nothing but pure intentions, his obsession for knowledge indirectly created the greatest evil the galaxy had ever known.
