We've all seen big film announcements from conventions where the audience goes wild and got a sense of the excitement, but nothing - nothing - can compare to actually being in those crowds. The overwhelming joy, egged on by the thousands of other fans around you, truly is something else.

When Darth Vader's breathing was heard at the end of the Celebration exclusive Rogue One trailer, the explosion of noise as 4000 fans leapt to their feet cheering was deafening and awe-inspiring. There was a similar reaction to Thrawn the day after on the Rebels panel, and the entrance of every star was accompanied with whoops. It's intoxicating, and after a couple of hours in this atmosphere you're screaming along with the rest.

I just wish I'd had the time/energy to make one of the film screenings - at the end of Days 1 and 2 they showed Star Wars and The Force Awakens, which based on what those who attended said, sounded like incredibly raucous fan experiences.
