Ever wanted to build a Darth Vader suit of your own? It's gonna cost you. A lot.

An inquiry conducted by Shade Station reasoned that an authentic, functional Vader costume would cost around $18.3 million to build in real life.

The outlet broke the suit down into several different components, including helmet augmented reality ($600,000), prosthetic limbs ($180,000), maintenance of those prosthetic limbs ($5.4 million), voice modifier ($1,000), breathing apparatus ($45,000) and a base suit, similar to a NASA space suit ($12 million).

So, besides removing two of your legs and one of your arms, you're going to need a sizeable chunk of change lying around if you want to become a fearsome Sith Lord.

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
