It wasn’t just the size of the Supremacy that stuck fear across all corners of the galaxy, but also its groundbreaking ability to track enemy ships through hyperspace.

When aboard the Supremacy, the First Order can chase down the Resistance – even through hyperspace - using a combination of data and groundbreaking technological advances. The Supremacy’s advanced hyperspace tracker consists of huge numbers of computers and databanks enclosed within a hyperspace field generator.

Centuries of combat reports and astrogation data are cross-referenced with an enemy ship’s last known trajectory to result in trillions of potential destinations. A static hyperspace field generated around the central machines is then used to accelerate their processing powers to unheard-of levels, allowing the intel hub to sift through the data at incomprehensible speeds in order to calculate the hyperspace destination.

The hyperspace tracking complex is located around the center of the Supremacy, below the central bridge, and directly above Supreme Leader Snoke’s throne room. It is this ability to track through hyperspace that sees the First Order destroy most of the Resistance fleet, leaving the surviving heroes to flee to the nearby planet Crait.
