Star Wars: 10 Things You Didn't Know About The Supremacy
8. The Supremacy Was A Travelling Headquarters For The First Order
Far from just being an oversized Destroyer ship, the Supremacy served as a travelling headquarters for the First Order.
While the First Order was working in shadows and secrets to build up its forces, Supreme Leader Snoke had refused to designate any planet as the regime’s capital. This was despite receiving many requests and invitations from collaborators and allies of the First Order, all hoping to be the host planet of Snoke and his forces. In making this tactical decision, Snoke felt the future of the First Order was not to dominate a distant corner of the Outer Rim, or rule planets beyond the galaxy, but to restore the Empire’s stolen domain and build upon its former glories.
Until the First Order achieve such a feat, the regime’s capital will be mobile and travel with its master and minions. Because of the Supremacy’s function as a travelling headquarters, the ship is equipped with facilities far beyond those of a typical warship, including a Star Destroyer construction and maintenance site, a droid manufacturing plant, and a training center for stormtrooper cadets.
