5. He Was The Strongest Dark Side User Of All Time
As we previously mentioned, in both Canon and Legends Darth Sidious had the power to hide his Dark Side presence from the Jedi, but this was just the beginning of his Force powers. In the films, Darth Sidious’ strongest Force attack is that of Force Lightning, which he uses to great effect in his duels with both Mace Windu and Yoda in Revenge of the Sith, Luke Skywalker in Return of the Jedi and Rey in the Rise of Skywalker.
Other powers we see Sidious make use of include Dark Absorption, used against Rey and Ben Solo in the climax of the Rise of Skywalker, and Telekinesis, a common Force ability that Sidious is able to expertly use against Yoda in Revenge of the Sith. In Canon, Sidious can also use Force Persuade, a far more powerful variation of the Jedi mind trick, as well as having the ability to communicate with other Force users, namely Darth Vader, over great distances and the ability to foresee the future with near perfect accuracy.
Sidious’ Legends abilities, however, far eclipse that of his Canon counterpart. In Legends, his abilities with the Dark Side became so strong that he was considered to be a Vergence in the Force. His strongest Force ability was Force Storm, which allowed Sidious to create a wormhole in space that he could use to transport fleets about the Galaxy or a huge energy cyclone to destroy his enemies.
