Star Wars: 10 Truly Disturbing Side Character Backstories
6. Dr. Cornelius Evazan
This character received less than a minute of screen time in the original Star Wars trilogy, but he's remembered for his distinctly unfriendly demeanour and facial deformities.
His encounter with Luke on Tatooine ended when Obi Wan Kenobi stepped in, brandishing his lightsaber. If it wasn't for Kenobi's presence, things could have turned out a lot worse for young Skywalker.
Turns out Evazan was one of the most wanted people in all the galaxy. The former practising surgeon had a huge bounty on his head, and was wanted by both the Empire and the Rebel Alliance. His brag about receiving the death sentence in twelve systems wasn't just the tough-talk of a drunk.
Before going on the run he'd been one of the most sort after cosmetic surgeons in the galaxy, but he soon began performing outlandish and depraved procedures on his patients - mutilating many of them.
Eventually he began kidnapping victims to practice his experimental techniques on - which included detaching limbs and reattaching them in the wrong place. He often removed a human victim's cranium and replaced it with biotech, essentially making them an undead slave, then sold them for profit.
His facial scares were the result of narrowly escaping capture, by one of the many bounty hunters out to claim the huge reward on his head.
