Star Wars: 15 Moments That Pissed Off Every Fan

Actor Jake Lloyd, who played young Anakin in The Phantom Menace, gets a lot of flak for being one of the movie's weakest elements, but is it really fair to pick on an 8-year-old boy who had to try and make lines like "Yippie!" and "Now this is pod racing!" sound natural?

Lloyd did as well with the part as is to be expected, but that doesn't mean young "Annie" wasn't a justified source of vitriol for disgruntled fans.

You know what the Star Wars franchise really never needed? Children. The films are goofy enough as it is, and having a child protagonist just really dragged everything down. Try not to vomit and/or cringe when Annie asks Padme, "Are you an angel?"

Sadly things didn't get all that much better when he came of age in the next movie.
