Star Wars: 22 Products That Prove George Lucas Is A Complete Sell Out

19. The Clone Wars TV Show

starwars-clonewars1

Begin the chorus of boo and hiss from angry fans. The Clone Wars TV show, created by Lucas himself, premiered on Cartoon Network back in 2008. It was a hit, revitalizing the negative criticism received from Episode II by building a very positive fan base. That was until Lucas also made the movie, which tanked. But why make the TV show at all. Even though it was good, the real motivation behind it probably had more to do with how much slamming Episode I got. It was a noble effort to save the rotten egg of the trilogy. Plus it allowed Lucas a new spin on the already established Clone Wars and that means new lines of toys, games, and more merchandise. Kind of like LEGO Star Wars, but we'll leave them out of this one. What did LEGO ever do to hurt anybody?
