Star Wars 7: 7 Awesome Actors Who Could Play The Villain
4. Doug Jones
Odds are you have never heard of this man. Like Andy Serkis, he vanishes into rolls that require him to be completely unrecognizable, but in his case it is through complex makeup and prosthetics. He is most famous for his rolls in Guillermo Del Torro's Hellboy movies, in which he plays Abe Sapien, and in Pan's Labyrinth, in which he plays all the tall and creepy characters. His performances are defined by their alien physicality, and while he doesn't often provide his own vocals in these movies, that is hardly a problem in a Star Wars movie (remember, it is not James Earl Jones in the Darth Vader suit, but David Prowse) What Sort of Villain Would he Be? While he would also be well suited to the role of alien sidekick, Doug Jones has proven in Pan's Labyrinth that he can be diabolical and menacing as well. His dynamic physicality can make him effective both as an alien monster of all varieties (be it Sith minion or simple carnivore), or as a new wave intelligent battle robot - portrayed with prosthetics, of course.
Self-evidently a man who writes for the Internet, Robert also writes films, plays, teleplays, and short stories when he's not working on a movie set somewhere. He lives somewhere behind the Hollywood sign.
