Star Wars 7: 7 Awesome Actors Who Could Play The Villain

3. Michael Shannon

This one should be a pretty obvious choice. A veteran of both Boardwalk Empire and Man of Steel, Michael Shannon is often called upon to play characters fueled by deep seated rage, matched by their calculating minds. His white knuckle performance as General Zod was the clear highlight of Man of Steel, and his arc in Boardwalk Empire proves his talent for suppressing resentment for whole seasons before letting it finally boil over. What Sort of Villain Would he Be? A Sith Marauder, what else? This guy has the physicality of a tank, yet the appearance of a man of honor - traits that served him well as General Zod, but make him ideal to portray a new-age Darth Maul (though hopefully one that has much more dialogue and a greater significance to the plot).
