8. Natasi Daala

With the fall of the Emperor at the end of Return of the Jedi, it is assumed that with his death the Empire was also defeated and the Rebels restored what was once the Republic overnight. Not so fast. Depending on the timeline of the next film, it would be interesting to see the Rebel Alliance continue its fight against the remnants of what was left of Palpatine's Empire. It has long been rumored and discussed that there is a strong desire to get a leading female character for Episode VII and with that it would be fitting to have a strong female foil for that protagonist to go against. After the defeat of the Emperor, Daala is one of the Imperial leftovers who tries to keep his vision alive. The story goes that Daala had been stationed in the outer reaches of the galaxy and knew nothing of the events that were transpiring during the original trilogy until accidentally being discovered by Han Solo. With the news that the Empire was on the verge of collapse, Daala attempts to come to its rescue. Although not the strongest contender for a villain, Daala could fill the role of a more public nemesis while our main heroes battle an enemy that lurks behind the scenes.
