Star Wars 7: 8 Expanded Universe Villains We Could See For Episode VII

7. Tsavong Lah And The Yuuzhan Vong

With this inclusion, I am filling more of a personal void than one that is realistic. It amazes me sometimes when I think about the introduction of the Yuuzhan Vong and the "violence" they brought to the Star Wars Expanded Universe. Spanning over the course of nineteen novels, the New Jedi Order series introduced Star Wars fans to an alien race known as the Yuuzhan Vong. These creatures appeared to exist outside of the realm of the Force meaning that they were completely undetectable to the Jedi. Tsavong Lah was the leader or Warmaster of this race of aliens that invades the Star Wars galaxy from a place known the Unknown Regions. It is believed that even Palpatine knew of the dangers that these aliens possessed. In the Expanded Universe, it is assumed that part of the reasoning behind the establishment of his Empire was to prepare the galaxy for their inevitable invasion. I do not see Disney taking a risk on a story that sees a number of deaths involving both classic characters from the films and others that were introduced in the Expanded Universe. However, it would be a marvelous way of connecting both the prequel trilogy and the classic trilogy if the plot of Palpatine's knowledge of these aliens was a factor while showing the audience something it has never seen before in the Star Wars universe. It would break away from the classic clash of the Jedi vs. Sith and set an entirely new tone for the Star Wars Universe much the way Abrams did with his Star Trek films.
