Star Wars: 7 Dream Anthology Films We Want To See
4. Rogue Squadron
The spaceship dogfights are easily the most exciting set pieces in Star Wars that don't involve lightsabers. Full of spectacular visuals and tense action, these sequences have been consistently enjoyable throughout the entire series, but especially in the latest entry.
The dogfights in The Force Awakens were awe-inspiring. The jaw-dropping cinematography and intense sound design made the soaring ships feel incredibly lifelike, and the gorgeous visuals make you appreciate how far special effects have come since the series 1977 debut. Now is the time for the X-Wings pilots to star in their own film.
Although the options seem limitless, I believe an X-Wing Anthology film would be most effective if it focused on the Rogue Squadron. The Rogue Squadron originated in the first Star Wars, but the team's importance unfortunately waned as the series progressed.
Fans would love the chance to see some of the Rogue Squadron's unseen battles. Watching the Rebels and Empire duke it out on familiar planets (like Coruscant and Jakku) would not only be loads of fun, but would also add to the scope of the Original Trilogy.
Dream Involvement: Based on his work in Skyfall, cinematographer Roger Deakins and Star Wars would be a match made in heaven, and he would make the high-flying X-Wings look better than ever before in this film.
