2. Another Skywalker Trial
LucasBooksAt its core, Star Wars is about the Skywalker family and its struggles with the temptations of the dark side. Episode VII, and the entire sequel trilogy for that matter, is a golden opportunity to continue on with this Star Wars film tradition. In the prequel trilogy, fans witnessed the fall and ultimate redemption of Anakin Skywalker. In the original trilogy, we watched in awe as Luke Skywalker stared down the barrel of the dark side only to never fully blink. It is only fitting that in this new trilogy we get to witness the next member of the Skywalker lineage face the same temptations. Will this new Skywalker resist the temptation of the dark side all together as Luke did? Will they fall only to redeem themselves later like Anakin? Or will they simply fall to the dark side once and for all, bringing the whole Skywalker story full circle as the next generation of heroes is tested?
