4. Snoke

Who is Snoke? Is he Darth Plageuis? Is he the Inquisitor from Star Wars Rebels? A time-travelling Kylo Ren? Or maybe... just Snoke? We're probably going to find out at some point, and he needs to have a bigger part in things than he did in The Force Awakens (and we also need to know if he's really that big, or whether there's some Wizard of Oz smoke and mirrors stuff going on here).

Whoever he is, he's been around a while, and knows an awful lot about the Force and the Skywalker lineage. He's the overarching big bad, the Palpatine of the trilogy, and he'll come out of the shadows as the movies progress.

For a start, he is the one who lured Kylo Ren to the Dark Side, so is responsible for the death of, y'know. He's the person controlling everything behind the scenes, so while it's all well and good killing off the other villains, it's him the heroes will be all out to finish if they're to truly end the First Order.
