Star Wars: 8 Theories About Supreme Leader Snoke's Identity
7. Snoke Is Darth Vader
The Theory
The physical similarities between Snoke and Darth Vadar are undeniable, from the gash in his head to the pale skin. Check out Ryan Higgins's tweet below...
Although we saw what was left of Anakin Skywalker die and undergo cremation at the hands of his Son in Return of the Jedi, some would have you believe that something of Vader survived and has taken on a new identity as the sequel trilogy's villain.
How Credible Is It?
Snoke is almost certainly not Darth Vader in a literal sense. The character found redemption in Jedi and we'd be surprised to see the new sequels tampering with that.
However, there may be an intrinsic connection between Snoke and Vader, as there are hints that the former is sensitive to both the Force and the Dark Side - does that remind you of a certain helmeted individual with chronic breathing issues?
Furthermore, some speculate that Snoke is the Vader half of Anakin's Force ghost, claiming it could have split into two spiritual entities following his death.
This argument seemingly overlooks the fact that Siths cannot become Force ghosts, although there was concept art of a ghostly Anakin with Vader elements kicking about before The Force Awakens arrived in cinemas.
Expect to find there's deep connective tissue between Vader and Snoke, but forget the notion of them being one and the same.
