3. Rey Could Inherit The Skywalker Name

There's a fair compromise if J.J. Abrams doesn't want to entirely contradict The Last Jedi and undo Kylo Ren's declaration about Rey's parents - have Rey simply go The Dark Knight Rises route and "inherit" the Skywalker name from Luke.

Given that Rey has no confirmed last name, it'd be quite poignant to see her taking up Luke's mantle in the wake of his passing, carrying it on for the future and cementing her as an instrumental part of his legacy.

This would also be quite fitting if Abrams didn't want to fully dismantle the Jedi/Sith dynamic and create a new order of Skywalker Force-users, as it would still keep the Skywalker name in the franchise even while Rey becomes its flagship hero.
