1. Force Ghosts
In all versions of Trevorrow's Episode IX, the movie would have ended with the return of some familiar faces as Force Ghosts. After the battle we described in the previous slide, the likes of Luke, Yoda, and Obi-Wan Kenobi were there to make one final effort to save Ben but ultimately unable to do so due to the extent of his injuries.
In the version where Rey and Kylo team up, he would have sacrificed himself and these Force ghosts were then on hand to heal Rey and ensure the Jedi live on.
Look closely at this piece of artwork, however, and it seems a number of other classic Jedi Knights would have shown up, including many from the prequel era. As cool as those voices in The Rise of Skywalker were, this is what fans really wanted and it might have been worth getting to see Trevorrow's vision on screen for this awesome moment alone.
