Star Wars Episode 7: 10 Actresses To Play First Prominent, Live-Action Female Jedi

5. Jaimie Alexander

Perhaps it's her part in Thor that makes her so seemingly perfect for a Jedi role, as she's somewhat of a rogue, swashbuckling, fun romp of a character as Lady Sif. That easily translates to the type of persona that Disney could be looking for in the next installation of the world-famous franchise, and the actress is certainly picking up steam, as her part in the aforementioned Marvel movie is being elongated for the sequel. She's athletic, tough, and sweetly charming, so we could expect some classic Han Solo-esque characterization from her if she were to follow suit a-la Lady Sif. And she'd most certainly be a fan of the men. Princess Leia's slave costume might just become a half-remembered thing of the past if Jaimie Alexander steps in to tango with the Sith. Yowch! She's also a blast to follow on Twitter.

Cameron Carpenter is an aspiring screenwriter, current film and journalism student, and self-diagnosed cinephile, which only sounds bad in certain circles. Devoted fan of comics, movies, theater, Jesus Christ, Sidney Lumet, and Peter O'Toole, he sometimes spends too much time on his Scribd and comicbookmovie.com, but doesn't think you're one to judge, devoted reader. You can follow him on Twitter to watch him talk to people you didn't know exist. Oh, and Daredevil is quite the big deal around here (my head).
