8. Jennifer Lawrence

A rising star if ever there was one, Jennifer Lawrence is one of those great, versatile actresses who has proven herself able to cope with both potent drama, as with her Oscar-nominated performance in Winter's Bone, and the more physical, superficial demands of a Hollywood blockbuster, as with the Hunger Games and X-Men Origins: First Class. Her combination of physical presence and acting prowess would make her a fine fit for the Star Wars universe, perhaps as the steely new protagonist, if Star Wars fans are, as they should be, willing to accept a female lead. One can easily imagine Lawrence feeling right at home with a light sabre, and as an up-and-coming Jedi, would have massive potential to become an iconic, progressive staple of the series, given its general poverty of strong, forthright female characters other than Carrie Fisher's Princess Leia. Strong-minded but also having tremendous sex appeal, she would likely appeal to both genders in a way that casting directors and marketing departments love; consider her a prime threat.
