9. Mark Hamill
This one will be a cause for debate, especially given that we're not even aware if Episode 7 takes place during Luke Skywalker's lifetime. Furthermore, even if it does, many fans will be opposed to a new film raking over and possibly tainting the fine Skywalker legacy, which seemed all but tied off and finished at the end of Return of the Jedi. Nevertheless, the sure nostalgic appeal of Mark Hamill - even if he's understandably looking a little old and doughy these days - will be hard for the filmmakers to resist moving ahead with. Perhaps what's best is a compromise; a cameo appearance from Hamill - if the timeline checks out - in which he imparts a small bit of wisdom into a new protagonist, reflecting a passing of the torch, rather than having him as an old man, running around with a blaster, which would of course be absolutely ridiculous.
