Star Wars Episode 7: 5 Reasons It Could Be Awesome and 5 Reasons It Could Suck

1. Milking The Franchise

Sometimes you just got to know when to quit. Many Star Wars fans are content with the films that we got. This is especially true because these films told a complete story with distinct beginnings, middles, and ends. When the credits hit the screen at the end of Return of the Jedi, there was a sense of finality to it all, and the conclusion was satisfying enough that there never felt the need to keep going. This was especially true for Revenge of the Sith, as that ending brought us full circle. For what was then considered to be the final Star Wars film ever made, it was the perfect ending. Now with Disney owning the rights, we know this is no longer the case. Considering how fast they announced Episode VII, it is clear that Disney is seeing big green dollar signs when it comes to Star Wars. They are going full speed ahead with their plans, announcing a 2015 release date, which is extraordinarily soon when you really think about it. I know it is way too late to start complaining about the commercialization of Star Wars, as Lucas has been milking that cow for a long time, but you can bet that Disney will expand this even further. Even just reading the announcement, one gets the feeling that Disney is going to be putting Star Wars everywhere it can, including television. Just wait, in the next 5 years Star Wars will be everywhere, and Disney will be raking in the cash. What do you think about Disney's acquirement of Star Wars? Love it? Hate it? Let us know!
