5. To See The Knights Of Ren In Action
Ever since they were namedropped and shown fleetingly in Episode VII, the fans have wondered exactly what the Knights of Ren are capable of, longed to see them in battle and speculated endlessly about who they actually are.
The absence of Kylo Ren's army of Force-wielders felt like a glaring omission from The Last Jedi. Why namedrop them, show them in a flashback sequence and insinuate that they're a big deal only to send them AWOL in the next chapter?
If anything, this has only made the fans keener to know more about this mysterious order and what makes them tick, and no doubt many are hoping Episode IX will come up with a compelling reason for their absence in the previous movie.
Benching these guys once again would surely be an oversight on J.J. Abrams's part as there so much potential in a band of Force-using bad guys who are unbound by the laws of the Sith. They could be Kylo's greatest asset when it comes to bending the galaxy to his will as the new head of the First Order.
What's more, there's scope for epic set pieces between two opposing factions with Force abilities if Rey was to rebuild the Jedi order in Episode IX. Granted, this has come up in past Star Wars films, but it's the kind of thing the fans never tire of.
