The Force Awakens was criticized for more-or-less "remaking" A New Hope, with the two movies sharing super-specific elements like a planet-sized laser-weapon (that gets destroyed by an X-Wing pilot), and a droid carrying important information who ends up on an arid desert planet.

That in mind, you'd think Episode IX would try its best to avoid any major similarities with the original trilogy, but surprisingly, that might not be the case. Not too long ago, Mike Zeroh had even more rumoured details to share about the upcoming sequel, including the possibility that yet another Death Star-type weapon would feature in the story:

"Kylo appears to be examining three large superweapons that are in a cylindrical shape with an enormous engine on each side of each superweapon... destroying terrain on a planet. The engine burner is coloured red and the blast from the bottom of these three massive weapons are coloured blue, impacting a surface causing astronomical destruction. Parts of the weapon seem to be under construction and not completely finished."

With The First Order in disarray after the death of Supreme Leader Snoke, it seems unlikely that they'd be able to gather enough resources to construct another Death Star. Then again, this could be the work of an outside faction, or it could be something The First Order had tucked away just in case Starkiller Base was destroyed.
