6. How Exactly Are R2-D2 and C-3PO Involved?
We already know that our favourite comic duo have been confirmed to appear in the
Phantom Menace. The big question is, of course, how has Lucas managed to find a place for them to that doesn't clash with that of the established universe? We know that both R2 and C3PO don't know Obi-Wan Kenobi because he doesn't mention it when he meets them again in the original flick. That's to say, the droids will have to find a careful place somewhere in the story at a point where they don't meet Obi-Wan. Unless George Lucas opts to just, like, have their memories erased or something at some point over the course of the prequel trilogy. Which of course he won't, 'cause that's silly and contrived, and he wouldn't do that to his fans.
