3. Will Anakin Skywalker Live Up To Our Expectations?
Here's one thing that every
Star Wars fan is dying to know: will Anakin live up to our rightfully high expectations, especially since he's being played by a kid in this episode. And I'll admit, I'm a little spooked as to why George Lucas went with Jake Lloyd (i.e. the kid from
Jingle All the Way), though ultimately I trust the man's judgment. After all, it's his world, and he doesn't want want to mess it up, does he? The only way Lucas could really tarnish things would be to ham-fist plot points from the original trilogy into this one in ways that make them feel contrived and forced. I'll say again that I'm totally confident in Lucas' ability to make this work, but, imagine if he written into his script that (and I'm thinking crazy here, so bear with me) Anakin Skywalker had, like, build C-3PO. I know something like that would never happen in a million years ('cause it's super dumb), but you get my drift. Fingers crossed!
