Star Wars Episode VII: 5 Perfect Potential Castings

3. Jonathan Rhys Meyers

Jonathan-Rhys-Meyers To Play: Late twentysomething male, fit, handsome and confident The 35-year-old star of The Tudors and Mission Impossible III is set to follow in the footsteps of fellow Irishman Liam Neeson, who played the role of Qui-Gon Jin in the much vilified Phantom Menace, as one of the protagonist in the new installment of Star Wars. He is an actor of considerable versatility, as shown in his varied turns as King Henry VII in the historical epic The Tudors, soccer coach in Bend It Like Beckham and his newly-announced new series Dracula, in which he will play the titular character. Having played a big role in Abrams' own Mission Impossible III, Jonathan Rhys Meyers makes as much sense for this part as any other handsome late twentysomething in Hollywood. Allegedly, he has already been offered a leading role in the movie: there is no telling which role he will be playing, but my money is on this one.
