Star Wars Episode VIII: 9 Subtle Clues In The Force Awakens You Missed
6. Snoke Training Kylo
Snoke tells Hux at the end of the film that it's time to finish Kylo Ren's training, which gives us clues to various possibilities for Episode VIII. While it's likely that we'll have Rey being trained by Luke, this also opens the door for Kylo Ren being trained in the ways of the Dark Side by Snoke, which would make for a very interesting parallel to the Jedi's path. But there's also the question of what further training is needed. Kylo Ren is already pretty strong, despite him being defeated by Rey (he was severely injured), but does mean that he'll hopefully learn a few more cool Force tricks (a la stopping the blaster bolt), and also how to keep his emotions in check, and give himself fully to the Dark Side (something his murder of his father has already put into motion). The other thing to note with regards to this is the role of General Hux. He and Kylo are like a pair of squabbling siblings throughout the movie, each with their own directive and wanting to overrule the other. With Snoke giving such direct training to Kylo, there's a chance those divisions are only going to grow in Episode VIII, which could cause a big rift in the ranks of the First Order (or, just as likely, the death of Hux).
