Star Wars Episode VIII: 9 Subtle Clues In The Force Awakens You Missed
5. Pretty Much Everything Maz Says
Maz Kanata is a wise old (very old, actually) soul, and is set up as The Force Awakens' version of Yoda. Sure, she doesn't have the Force power the Jedi Master possessed, nor does she have as big a role to play, but she still does have plenty of important things to say (even if her role was cut considerably quite late in the day). Mostly, these come in her conversation with Rey after the scavenger has found Luke's old lightsaber:
"Whomever you are waiting for on Jakku, they're never coming back. But, there's someone who still could." "The belonging you seek is not behind you, it is ahead. I am no Jedi, but I know the Force..."
These lines imply that she knows about Rey's connection to Luke, and is massively hinting at the theories of a father/daughter relationship between the pair. There's also the way she describes the lightsaber being Luke's, and his father's before him, which - reading way too much into it - could be taken as saying Luke is Rey's father. As for clues to Maz's own role in Episode VIII, there's the story of just how she got her hands on Luke's lightsaber. A story for another time, and, well, Episode VIII could well be that time.

A mix of wise-old man in a young man's body with a child-like wonder about him and a great otherworldly sensibility.
