Star Wars Episode VIII: 9 Subtle Clues In The Force Awakens You Missed

2. Rey/Luke Theme

As mentioned, there were similarities between Snoke's theme and the one that plays when Plagueis is mentioned in RotS, but that wasn't the only time John Williams used music to subtly foreshadow what's (maybe) about to come in Episode VIII and beyond. An even bigger moment was during the end credits, when Rey's Theme (one of the absolute highlights from The Force Awakens' score) is perfectly blended with the Force Theme or, as it's commonly thought of, Luke's Theme. The two have plenty of similarities anyway, so blend together seamlessly and rather beautifully. It's a fantastic piece of music, but also gives us a massive hint at something many already believed: Rey could be the daughter of Luke Skywalker. Granted, it may just be indicating how strong she is with the Force, but given how associated that music is with Skywalkers, and Luke in particular, then it becomes a clue to something bigger than that.
