Star Wars: Episode VIII - Pablo Hidalgo Says There's No Title Yet
You've probably got MONTHS to wait yet.
So much for that "leaked poster" from Star Wars Celebration Europe confirming the Episode VIII title as Fall Of The Resistance, eh?
It was fairly reasonably assumed by a good number of Star Wars fans that the Celebration would include a firm confirmation of the title, which some more optimistic fans expecting even more than that. But it's still very early days for the film, despite the fact that it has now officially wrapped principle filming.
There's also the small matter of Rogue One coming first and Disney and LucasFilm no doubt wary of deflecting attention from that film by looking too far beyond it prematurely. Hype has a habit of eating other hype in its way, after all.
But it's not actually the case that Disney are sitting on the title, according to Pablo Hidalgo. He claims that they've not even chosen one...
And it's not unprecedented, as he points out. The Force Awakens wasn't even given its own title until later than this in the corresponding year before release:
So you're probably looking at a good few months of Episode VIII being without a name yet. No matter how many "insiders" claim to have a hot exclusive on the title.
