Star Wars: Every Jedi Who Turned To The Dark Side

6. Barriss Offee

Count Dooku Jedi
Lucasfilm

Much like Ahsoka Tano, Bariss Offee was a young Jedi Padawan who trained during the Clone Wars. In fact, the two Padawans were close friends. Until they weren't. Eventually, Bariss would turn to the dark side and attempt to frame Ahsoka for murder.

But let's back up a bit.

At some point, Barriss became disillusioned with the Jedi Order. She believed that the Jedi had lost their way, abandoning their role as peacekeepers in the galaxy and fighting a war that served the dark side.

And, with hindsight being 20/20, Barriss wasn't wrong. After all, the Clone Wars had been orchestrated by the dark machinations of two Sith Lords. One of those Sith Lords, Dooku, was even a former Jedi. Even the highest members of the Jedi Council, Yoda and Mace Windu, sensed that they had lost their way and something about the Clone Wars felt very wrong. The dark side of the Force was rising, but Yoda and Windu hid that information, choosing instead to protect the power and influence of the Jedi.

Of course, Barriss didn't know that, but instinctively she knew what the Jedi were doing was wrong. Unfortunately, her response to the growing darkness in the Jedi council was to bomb the Jedi Temple. She then framed her friend, Ahsoka, for the crime. Eventually, she confessed her crimes, but only after they were uncovered by Anakin Skywalker.

Not cool, Barriss.
