Star Wars: EVERY Movie & TV Show Ranked Worst To Best
12. The Clone Wars
When The Clone Wars motion picture was released in 2007, some fans (and many critics) didn't take to it. However, the film proved to be the beginning of something truly epic, and though not quite as effective as what was to come, it was a good set-up for the coming show.
Presented as a feature length pilot to the upcoming series, The Clone Wars managed to elevate itself above simple exposition and plot setups thanks to some seriously stylish animation, great voice acting (including appearances from Sam Jackson and Christopher Lee) and solid character introduction.
The film marks the first appearance of future fan-favourites Ahsoka Tano and Captain Rex, and gives a more refined and compelling look at characters such as Commander Cody, Asajj Ventress (seen in the 2003 micro-series), Padme Amidala and Count Dooku.
It's not as rich or as daring as other additions to the franchise, sure, but thanks to a fun storyline and a change in medium it's nonetheless a strong picture.
