The Sith assassin, Asajj Ventress, debuted in Star Wars: Clone Wars. Although she seemingly died in a battle with Anakin, Asajj was way too popular to be killed off that easily and returned in the similarly-titled 2008 series, Star Wars: The Clone Wars. This was a great decision since it gave us a chance to learn a lot more about this enigmatic character.

Born into slavery, Asajj witnessed her parents being murdered by pirates. When she was taken in by the Jedi, Ky, he taught her how to use the Force. But when he was murdered, Asajj embraced the Dark Side to avenge him, which led her down the path of the Sith. After being taken in by Count Dooku, The Emperor realised that Asajj's power could succeed their own and so, asked his apprentice to exterminate her.

Fleeing from her former mentor, Asajj found solace when she encountered a Jedi nmed Quinlan Vos. When Dooku attempted to strike Quinlan with Force lighting, Asajj absorbed the blast, killing herself in the process. Even though she had been a great enemy to the Jedi for years, the Council commended her heroic sacrifice.
