Atris started her life utterly dedicated to the Jedi Order. Ironically, this became her downfall. She saw herself as unequivocally self-righteous, causing her to become arrogant and fanatical. When her fellow Jedi left the Order, she saw them as heretics. Even when her friend, Meetra, returned to the Order, Atris perceived her as a traitor.

When many relics were lost or destroyed during the Dark Wars, Atris tracked down every artefact related to the Force, including ones affiliated with the Sith. After studying Sith holocrons to learn how to protect the Jedi, Atris found herself being twisted by the Dark Side. Only after Meetra defeated her in a duel did Atris acknowledge she was being corrupted, which allowed her to embrace the Jedi teachings once more.
