Star Wars Every Upcoming TV & Film: Everything We Know

9. Andor

Though his time in Star Wars was brief, Cassian Andor stood out as one of the best characters in Rogue One. Unfortunately, Cassian, like the rest of the cast, didn’t make it out of Rogue One alive. When he and Jyn Erso are blown up on Scarif, fans assumed this would be the last they would ever see of Diego Luna’s dedicated Rebel soldier.

However, this is not the case, as the Disney+ series Andor will follow Cassian in the five years leading up to his death. Luna will reprise his role from Rogue One, as will Alan Tudyk (K-2SO) and Genevieve O’Reilly (Mon Mothma). Additionally, Stellan Skarsgård, Adria Arjona, Fiona Shaw, Denise Gough, and Kyle Soller join the cast.

The series was created by Academy Award nominated writer and director Tony Gilroy, so Cassian’s story seems to be in good hands. Gilroy also co-wrote Rogue One, so he understands Cassian well. Additional writers include Beau Willimon and Dan Gilroy.

Andor will release in 2022, and will consist of 12 episodes, the highest confirmed episode count of any Disney+ series. Designer Neal Scanlan promises a cinematic feel to the show, which only makes the wait to 2022 feel longer.
