Star Wars: Ranking The Future Lucasfilm Projects From Least To Most Promising
8. Untitled Taika Waititi Project
Seeing as how Disney owns both Star Wars and Marvel, it is now becoming more common to see members of the cast and crew from one franchise working on a new project in the other franchise. And that trend looks to be continuing after the announcement that Taika Waititi is going to be making his own Star Wars film.
Waititi directed his first major film, Thor: Ragnarok in 2017, which earned him worldwide praise for its humorous style and tone. The next year he would win a BAFTA and Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay with Jojo Rabbit. He would then return to work with Disney by directing the season one finale of The Mandalorian.
Now Waititi is set to be the writer and director of Thor: Love and Thunder, which is expected to release in 2022, as well as his own Star Wars film which is yet to be titled. No other information about the film is available at this moment, but fans of Waititi’s work will expect the film to be an exhilarating experience and to feature his unique style and sense of humour.
