Star Wars: Ranking The Future Lucasfilm Projects From Least To Most Promising
9. A Droid Story
Star Wars fans have a special place in their heart for every character from the Original Star Wars Trilogy, and that is especially true for the most iconic pair of droids to have ever existed, C-3PO and R2-D2. Both droids were sidelined for most of the Disney Sequel Trilogy, R2-D2 in particular, but it looks like they are both going to get their chance to shine by starring in their very own movie.
Lucasfilm Animation will be teaming up with Lucasfilm’s visual effects team, Industrial Light & Magic, to develop A Droid Story for Disney+. R2-D2 and C-3PO will be back as the charming duo who will go on their own epic journey across the galaxy with the help of an entirely new droid. What this droid looks like and what role they will play in the film, we still do not know.
We still do not know who will be directing and writing A Droid Story, but it is safe to assume that it will be a more lighthearted film than the other entries on this list and aimed towards younger audiences as it has the same teams that worked on the Star Wars Clone Wars animated series.
