Yoda was the Grand Master of the Jedi High Council, having served on the Council for centuries, training students and making way for numerous new generations of Jedi.

He trained the likes of Mace Windu, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Plo Koon and Ki-Adi-Mundi during his time as the Order's wisest and most revered member, and was master to Dooku before his fall to the Dark Side.

Despite his age and unassuming appearance, he was able to best Dooku in combat with ease and fought Palpatine to a stalemate before going into exile.

Every Jedi looked to Yoda for advice and wisdom, and he almost always knew what was best, even if he made some errors along the way. The greatest Jedi of all time, without him the Council - and the Order - wouldn't have been quite the same.
