One of the essential parts of the Rogue One pitch has been that it'll be a Jedi-less affair, something that now seems to a little twisting of words. Yes, there are no Jedi, but the Force will play a pretty big part.

On top of Vader, we're going to visit Jedda, which was described by Edwards as something of a Jedi Mecca, where people who believe in the Force (although may not be Force-sensitive themselves) converge in hunt for spiritual enlightenment.

This suggests that Rogue One will actually deal with the lack of Jedi and what their disappearance represents for the galaxy at large, something we've seen little of in the trailers so far (not that they've been overly revealing).
