Star Wars Rogue One: 20 WTF Moments

An hilarious and peculiar new character introduced later in the movie is Admiral Raddus, a Mon Calamari admiral who provides tactical support to the rebels during the film's space battles.

Raddus of course bears a significant resemblance to the legendary Admiral Ackbar, the main difference being his skin colour is grey rather than Ackbar's brown.

This is a nod to the original trilogy that doesn't feel too on-the-nose, because Mon Calamari are a race of aliens and it's not inconceivable that other members of that race would have high-ranking strategic positions.

Plus, Raddus' personality seems a little different, and he was reportedly modeled after British Prime Minister Winston Churchill, which is all kinds of awesome.
