Star Wars: Rogue One - Predicting The Entire Plot In 10 Steps

The mission first takes them them to Jedha, a location we've seen plenty of after the second trailer. They land outside the city due to Imperial occupation - a clip from Star Wars Celebration had Cassian, Jyn and converted Imperial droid K-2SO in the rocky plains - and work their way in covertly. Their mission is to track down Clone Wars veteran Saw Gerrera, who may have intel on where the Empire's holding Galen.

The meeting involves a lot of talk about the ethics and moral cost of taking on such insurmountable odds, neatly giving us one side of the film's thematic message. From a plot point of view, Saw gives Jyn the location of her father, but refuses to join their organised fight, choosing to remain a lone agent.

Things don't stay calm for long though - the Empire finds them and closes in for the kill. A tank destroys the building, killing Saw within it (Forest Whitaker is only in one location across all trailers, after all), and while the rest initially escape, they're eventually captured by Stormtroopers.
