Why He Could Live: His odds aren't great, what with him being the movie's primary antagonist and all, but if the heroes are so likely to die the film may flip their adversary's chances. It's also possible that, in extreme punishment for his inevitable failure at keeping the Death Star plans, he may be imprisoned or otherwise incapacitated for torture. Not fun, but not death.

Why He Could Die: The "he's not in any other films" excuse can be used for most of these characters, but it's particularly true of Krennic; as Director of the Death Star project, surely he'd be around when that space station has become fully active? All the talk about schisms in the Imperial ranks also points to him not making it out alive; we know from the original film that the Emperor is in the process of dismantling the Senate and with it bureaucracy, and if Krennic's going to butt heads with Vader, I know who I'd bet on.

Prediction: Krennic f*cks up massively and finds the wrath of Darth Vader coming down hard on his windpipe.
