Star Wars: Rogue One Teaser Breakdown - 25 Things You Need To See
24. Return To Yavin IV
Jyn isn't in just any old Rebel base; she in the hidden cell on Yavin IV. And it looks great - there's a Gonk Droid plodding about, an X-Wing being led in through the hanger, that old tram thing that was briefly by the heroes, later on a bunch of glass tracking panels and, of course, vines. The production design on this "period" Star Wars movie looks to be excellent across the board, but this location is a standout; it feels like the first Star Wars, but Edwards has put a lot of effort into making it still feel organic and, based on these shots, larger in scale.
Of course, the busy, high number of crew compared to the end of A New Hope may be a clue that there's going to be a major loss of life in this mission.
The Rebels being based on Yavin may seem like an obvious creative decision, but it does further reinforce the movie's placement in the timeline; we know they previously had a base on Dantooine, so this places the events of Rogue One right up against the opening of the original.
