9. Spencer Wilding - The Rogue One Original
Former kickboxing champion Spencer Wilding - who stands at 6 foot 7 and a massive 7 foot 6 while in costume as Darth Vader - was originally cast to play the iconic villain in Rogue One: A Star Wars story.
Unfortunately, because of the amount of reshoots and the way Vader ended up being reframed for the movie, in contrast to Gareth Edwards' original vision - a lot of the footage he shot in costume didn't make it into final cut of the film. That included the moody shot of him in the Imperial war room looking at plans for the Death Star that was shown in the trailer.
The imposing figure also played Frankenstein's monster opposite Daniel Radcliffe in Victor Frankenstein. Edwards has spoken about how difficult it was to cast the right actor:
“You think to yourself you just put someone in the suit and it’s Darth. But it isn’t at all. We had to audition a lot of people to try and find people who could do the walk and feel like that’s him. And you can’t teach it either."
