6. Jake Lloyd - The Child
Over 3000 young actors were considered for the role of nine-year-old Anakin Skywalker in The Phantom Menace, with Jingle All The Way star Jake Lloyd winning out, something he'd go on to regret.
Lloyd suffered heavily from the backlash against the Prequel trilogy, his performance treated indistinct from George Lucas' decision to make Darth Vader a pre-teen. This, coupled while the pressure of the press exposure and taunts at school led to him flat-out quitting acting.
He still appears at various conventions, however, clearly having gotten over some of his initial anger against the franchise and its critical fans.
