Star Wars: The Best Moment From Every Movie, Ranked

10. The Kessel Run - Solo: A Star Wars Story

Empire Strikes Back
Disney

Would it have been better for Star Wars to leave the Kessel Run as an infamous tall tale, unseen and ambiguous? Maybe, but the truth is seeing it play out in Solo: A Star Wars Story makes for quite the spectacle, showcasing Han and his trusted Millennium Falcon at their absolute best.

First referenced all the way back in the original Star Wars, the Kessel Run was often mentioned but rarely in detail, dropped into conversation whenever Han felt the need to defend the abilities of his ship. No one could possibly make the Kessel Run in 12 parsecs, but this is the Millennium Falcon!

On-screen, the run itself is the highlight of Solo, which has several scenes rivalling it (the great train robbery, for example) but none that come close to the visual feast of seeing the Falcon zoom through vibrant space at unfathomable speed, with Han at the wheel having the time of his life.

Eye-popping and nerve-wracking, the Kessel Run lives up to over thirty years of franchise hype, and adds a fine dimension to Han's development.
