One of the great themes of the Star Wars franchise is the idea of heroism, and how anyone in the galaxy can be a hero so long as they believe in themselves. Luke was a lonely farmer who became the most powerful Jedi alive; Han Solo a cocky criminal who found purpose combatting tyranny.

This theme was rarely more potent than in Rogue One, where rebels Jyn Erso and Cassian Andor - both haunted souls, fighters, ordinary people called up to take arms - lead a mission to steal the Death Star plans from the heavily fortified Empirical planet of Scarif.

Jyn and Andor spend Rogue One's final act working together to save the day and give the Rebellion a chance to destroy the Empire's most horrible weapon. They succeed, but in a brilliant moment of acceptance embrace as the infamous space station destroys Scarif.

Accepting their fate with a smile, Jyn and Andor die victorious, and their final moments serve as a poignant reminder that in Star Wars, anyone can be the hero, not just all-powerful Jedi.
