8. Kylo Ren Thinks He's The New Chosen One
The most enticing theory about Kylo Ren to date is that he is a raging fanboy, seeking to collect Force artefacts either to make himself powerful or to resurrect the Sith through some nefarious manipulations. But there is an alternative now in light of the International Trailer. T
his very smart theory on Reddit first explored the idea that Darth Vader's agenda to bring balance to the Force was misinterpreted as the need to destroy everyone on both sides, and there's a distinct possibility that Ren has picked up that agenda and is seeking to wipe out Force users to "repair" the Force. Obviously, megalomania would protect himself (and possibly his Dark Lord) from that cull. The most interesting part of the new International Trailer was the addition of the line "I will fulfil OUR destiny", suggesting Ren knows that he is related to Darth Vader and that as a result the pair share a destiny as The Chosen Ones. After all, asuming a shared destiny without that awareness would be pretty arrogant.
Rating: 9/10 That line was pretty telling (which is perhaps why it was removed from the "final" trailer), and though there is still some possibility that Ren is simply an obsessive fanboy, it makes more sense that he would be compelled even further by the knowledge of their genetic link.
